Welcome to the Temple of Hor, Ancient Egyptian God of the Sky!

( Site is under construction, January 2009)...

 M7 Haroeris/Horus Michael I, USA.

An Invocation to Hor by M7 3* © Copyright 2009 MC7:

Pharaoh Horus Michael I,
Praises Ra at daybreak,
At his coming forth, as he opens up the Egg of Creation
And climbs up the ladder to Yaaru as Khepri.

He enters at the mouth of Nut;
He comes forth from the horizon
At his manifestations of the East of Yaaru,
As his father Asares raises him,
As the arms of Heh and Hehet greet him,
As he comes to rest in the Morning Boat.

O Hor, splendid in radiance as you descend from the sky.
Golden light cast upon the Earth,
Devoid of evil,
Immune to corruption,
Vindicated in Truth,
Reviving your Father Asares in Yaaru,
So that he may rule our world.

Peace is upon you,
As peace is granted unto your adorers,
Life, health, prosperity are your gifts,
Both to yourself and Our Kau,
That we may partake of this blessing.

The Priests don pure white vestments,
They encircle the temple with Sandalwood incense,
Washed are they who enter the temple.
Holy are those who leave it.

Lo! The sky opens!
Hor has come,
To vanquish the evils of the land,
And replenish the souls of the living.

Gone are the fouls of the enemy,
Replaced is the jewel of peace
In civilization, creation, and Order,
May it shine like no other.

So commands,
Horus Michael I, Pharaoh of the Living,
Vindicated before the Tribunal, and everliving.  3*

Hail Horus, God of the Sky!

This Temple is dedicated in the service of Hor/Horus, Egyptian God of the Sky, whose eyes are as the Sun and Moon – always watching us from above.

In the beginning, there was Ptah the Creator.  Ptah was alone and unique, having been self-created after having died over and over again throughout the cycles of Time.  For when a new universe is born, so must Ptah die and is reborn.   Ptah creates Life and the Universe by dreaming them into existence.   Once Ptah was alone so he lamented; his tears became the eternal oceans of Nu.  Then he thought for a moment, and spat into the oceans; then Life formed from his saliva.  From then on he was called Ptah, (P-th) meaning ‘to spit’ (phonetically).  Life was silent until Ptah created the divine utterance of sound.  His voice awakened all of the Creation like a falcon cry in the daytime.  So his voice was known as Hor (Horus), the awakening voice of God.

Hor as a separate deity was associated with solar and lunar movements.  The Celestial bodies in the Heavens were his domain.  Nothing would function without the vibrations or gravity of his voice.  Hor was the product of Ra, the Mouth of the Creator, and so became Son of Ra.  He adopted the solar crown, as Ra became his right eye.  The moon was his left eye.  Hor would eventually be mixed into the religion of Osiris, reborn as Ra-Horus and as son of Osiris.  Osiris was the moon god and god of farming and technology.  Osiris was too popular so his brother Seth murdered him and took away his reign.  Horus was to avenge this by combat and by legal means in the Court of the Double Ma’at Feathers.  Seth injured Horus in his left eye, which is why the Moon disappears for a while (New Moon) and is restored by Toth, also a Moon god.  To explain solar eclipses, storms, and darkness the Egyptians associated the battles of Horus and Seth with these events.

In later periods, Horus was associated with Michael, the Archangel.  Michael had wings like that of a falcon, carried a sword in one hand and the scales of Justice in the other.  Horus was present at the Last Judgment to lead the righteous into Heaven; Michael does the same.  Horus as Pharaoh creates Laws and Order by upholding the principals of Ma’at.  As Michael combats the Dragon, so does Horus protect Ra from danger (Apophis the Dragon, for instance).   When the Dragon swallows the Sun, this is a solar eclipse; when he swallows the Moon this is a lunar eclipse.   The Dragon is the ‘enemy’ of both Ra and Osiris, so Horus as Prince of Light must ‘do battle’ against Darkness, against the Darkness of crime, hostility, and disorder.  Horus is Pharaoh of the Living when alive or reborn and Prince of the Dead when in the Netherworld (as son of Osiris, the King of the Netherworld).  Horus was also associated somewhat with Christ due to various similarities.   Harpocrates is Horus as a child in the company of his mother Isis, shown with a side-lock of hair while sucking his finger.  Hathor was his nurse and later his wife.

This Temple is a sacred space to honor and worship Hor in peace and tranquility.  It is also a place of meditation or education.  All are welcome here.
